Newton Consulting has been named to the 2012 Inc. 5000 list, a compendium of the most entrepreneurial and fastest growing private companies in America. The award, compiled by Inc. magazine, is based on growth over a three-year period. The company experienced a 77% revenue growth rate from 2008 to 2011, with a 152% rate of growth in full-time employees. The company also placed on the 2010 and 2011 Inc. 5000, with a 266% and 67% revenue growth rate respectively.

Rick Newton, the company’s president and founder, attributes the company’s long-term growth to its dedication to its vision, strong customer relationships, and agility in responding to the marketplace.

“By remaining focused on our vision – to become the global standard of a customer-focused, values-driven consulting company – and operating true to our core values, we can ensure we are delivering value to the marketplace,” said Newton.

Bill Boehner, the company’s chief operating officer, was instrumental in launching a company subsidiary, Newton Enterprise, in London in 2011. Another subsidiary was recently launched in Canada. “We anticipate our strong growth rate will continue in the coming years as we invest in our business development function, broaden our service offerings in business strategy, and grow our presence in the national and global marketplace,” said Boehner.

Newton Consulting Awarded Inc. 5000, Pittsburgh 100, and Best Places to Work Honors for the Second Year in a Row

Newton Consulting, LLC, a provider of information technology and human resource management consulting services, has received honors in several growth and workplace awards for the second year in a row.

Newton Consulting has been named to the 2011 Inc. 5000 list, a compendium of the most entrepreneurial and fastest growing private companies in America. This prestigious award, compiled by Inc. magazine, is based on growth over a three-year period. Newton Consulting experienced a 67% revenue growth rate from 2007 to 2010, earning its 2011 ranking. The company also placed on the 2010 Inc. 5000, with a 266% revenue growth rate from 2006 to 2009.

Newton Consulting has also been recognized in the 2011 Pittsburgh 100, the Pittsburgh Business Times’ ranking of western Pennsylvania’s fastest growing, privately held companies. The company, which also received this award in 2010, experienced a 30% growth in revenue from 2008 to 2010, the period upon which the 2011 rankings were based. Additionally, the company experienced a 90% growth in full-time employees, from 21 in 2008 to 40 in 2010. Previously, the company experienced a 24% growth in revenue and 78% rate of growth in full-time employees from 2007 to 2009.

Rick Newton, the company’s president and founder, attributes the company’s significant growth to its dedication to its vision and strong customer relationships.

“We continue to experience significant growth, both nationally and internationally, as a result of remaining focused on our vision to become the global standard of a customer-focused, values-driven consulting company,” he said. “Practically, this means relentlessly focusing on delivering outstanding client services, significantly reinvesting profits back into the business to expand our service lines and geographic reach, and operating 100 percent of the time by our core values, which ensures we are delivering value to the marketplace while tremendously benefiting our employees, partners and community.”

Marking its exceptional workplace environment, Newton Consulting was named to the 2011 Best Places to Work in Western Pennsylvania, which honors organizations in the greater Pittsburgh region that deliver an outstanding work experience. This annual award by the Pittsburgh Business Times is largely based on an employee survey assessing satisfaction with topics such as workplace environment, benefits, human resource support, individual growth potential, and company leadership. The company also received the award in 2010.

“Of all the honors we have received, this is the one I’m most proud of,” said Newton. “We’ve endeavored to create an environment that is customer-centric, operated by values, and strives for work-family balance, while providing a compensation model based on pay for performance with shared risk and reward, an excellent benefits package, and flexible work arrangements when possible. It is one of my greatest satisfactions to see that a company like this can, not only survive, but thrive in the marketplace.”

Newton Consulting currently has 60 employees serving clients across North America and Europe. The privately-owned company is based in Claysville, Pa., with a wholly-owned subsidiary in London. The company, founded in 2003, reached $11.6 million in revenue in 2010 and expects over $14 million in revenue in 2011.

“Our company differentiates itself in the marketplace by our customer-focused, values-driven services and our unique shared ownership operating model that attracts and retains the top talent in the consulting industry,” Newton said. “This enables us to provide tier-one quality services at rates that fit the mid-market budget – an essential value proposition and model for growth in today’s economy.”
