Newton Consulting Named to Inc. 5000 and Pittsburgh 100 for a third year in a row

Newton Consulting

Newton Consulting, LLC, has been honored as one of the nation’s, and Pittsburgh’s, fastest growing companies for the third year in a row. The company is a leading provider of business strategy, information technology, and human resource management consulting services.

Newton Consulting has been named to the 2012 Inc. 5000 list, a compendium of the most entrepreneurial and fastest growing private companies in America. The award, compiled by Inc. magazine, is based on growth over a three-year period. The company experienced a 77% revenue growth rate from 2008 to 2011, with a 152% rate of growth in full-time employees. The company also placed on the 2010 and 2011 Inc. 5000, with a 266% and 67% revenue growth rate respectively.

Newton Consulting has also been recognized in the 2012 Pittsburgh 100, the Pittsburgh Business Times’ ranking of western Pennsylvania’s fastest growing, privately held companies, coming in at number 36 on the list. The company also received this award in 2010 and 2011.

Rick Newton, the company’s president and founder, attributes the company’s long-term growth to its dedication to its vision, strong customer relationships, and agility in responding to the marketplace.

“By remaining focused on our vision – to become the global standard of a customer-focused, values-driven consulting company – and operating true to our core values, we can ensure we are delivering value to the marketplace,” said Newton.

Bill Boehner, the company’s chief operating officer, was instrumental in launching a company subsidiary, Newton Enterprise, in London in 2011. Another subsidiary was recently launched in Canada. “We anticipate our strong growth rate will continue in the coming years as we invest in our business development function, broaden our service offerings in business strategy, and grow our presence in the national and global marketplace,” said Boehner.

Inc. Magazine and Winning Workplaces Select Cargas as 2010 Top Small Company Workplace Finalist

Inc. Magazine and Winning Workplaces have collaborated to identify the best small places to work in the country in their 2010 Top Small Company Workplaces competition. Cargas Systems was chosen as one of 40 national finalists.

In order to be nominated, each organization must be independent, with no more than $500 million in annual revenues and 750 or fewer employees. Applicants were drawn from US companies and across a broad spectrum of industries to include privately held and nonprofit organizations.

The common characteristics of the Top Small Company Workplaces winners and finalists include a commitment to aligning their workforce with a clear vision, mission, and values; communicating with openness and trust; and investing in employees’ continuous learning and development.  These practices were maintained or strengthened as a means to weather the recession.

Winning Workplaces and Inc. received nearly 500 completed applications for the contest.  A national panel of experts in leadership and small to mid-sized business judged the finalists based on specific metrics and qualitative assessments of their success in creating the kind of workplaces that engage employees and deliver successful results.

“This year’s honorees show that the quality of the workplace can be a competitive advantage.  I’m amazed at how well they have come through the recession.  Clearly, their commitment to their values and people practices are an important part of this success,” said Gaye van den Hombergh, President of Winning Workplaces.
