The Pittsburgh Eric M. Warburg Chapter of the American Council on Germany is hosting a luncheon and discussion with Hans-Ulrich Klose, Member of the Bundestag (SPD) and Chairman of the German-American Parliamentary Group. Klose will be speaking on the Current foreign policy challenges facing Europe and the U.S focusing on the areas of Afghanistan, Iran and Russia.
Hans-Ulrich Klose has been serving as Chairman of the German-American Parliamentary Group since January 2003 and as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag since October 2002. His previous positions include Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag, Vice President of the German Bundestag, Chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag, and Treasurer of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. A former Governing Mayor of the City of Hamburg, Klose was first elected to the Bundestag in 1983.
